Robaxin is suggested as an adjunct to rest, physical therapy, and additional actions for the relief of distress associated with acute, painful musculo-skeletal conditions. It works by preventing nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain.
Take Robaxin just as recommended by your doctor.
Do not take it in larger quantities or for more than recommended.
Just take Robaxin with a full glass of water.
Robaxin can be used with or without any food.
Use it as soon as possible, should you miss a dose of Robaxin. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dosage and return to your usual dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at the same time.
Six grams a day are recommended for the initial 48 to 72 hrs of treatment. (For acute illnesses 8 grams a day might be administered). Thereafter, the dosage can typically be lowered to approximately 4 grams a day.

Do NOT use Robaxin if:
you are sensitive to any ingredient in Robaxin
you are also taking sodium oxybate (GHB)
You've got kidney infection.

Some medications may interact with Robaxin. Inform your health care provider in case you are taking any other medicines, especially the following:
Anticholinesterases (eg, neostigmine) because their effectiveness can be decreased by Robaxin
Sodium oxybate (GHB) because the risk of its negative effects may be increased by Robaxin.

Essential safety information:
Robaxin may cause drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or blurred vision. These effects may be worse for it with alcohol or specific medicines. Use Robaxin with warning. Don't drive or perform other possible dangerous tasks until you realize how you respond to it.
Don't consume alcohol or use medicines that may cause drowsiness (eg, sleep aids, muscle relaxers) while you are using Robaxin; it may add to their effects. Ask your pharmacist if you've got questions regarding which medications may cause drowsiness.
Robaxin should not be provided for much more than three days in a row but for healing tetanus.
Use Robaxin with caution in the aged; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
Robaxin should be used with extreme caution in children younger than 12 years-old; safety and usefulness in these children have not been validated.
Pregnancy and breast feeding: In the event you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You'll have to talk about the benefits and hazards of using Robaxin while you are pregnant. It is not known if Robaxin is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast feeding while you use Robaxin, check with your doctor. Talk about any potential risks to your baby.
