Starlix (nateglinide) is an oral diabetes medication that helps control blood sugar. Starlix helps the body respond better to insulin generated by your pancreas.
Starlix can be used along with diet and exercise to treat type 2 diabetes. Other diabetes medications are occasionally found in combination with nateglinide if needed.

Take Starlix just as recommended by your physician. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for more than recommended. Follow the instructions on your prescription label.
Starlix is generally taken 3 times daily, within 30 minutes before ingesting a meal. Follow your doctor's instructions. If you skip meals, don't take your dose of Starlix. Wait till your next dinner.

Betaadrenergic blockers (eg, metoprolol), gemfibrozil, imidazoles (eg, nizoral), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (eg, phenelzine), nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen), or salicylates (eg, aspirin) because the chance of low blood sugar may be increased
Corticosteroids (eg, prednisone), rifampin, sympathomimetics (eg, pseudoephedrine), thiazides (eg, hydrochlorothiazide), or thyroid hormones (eg, levothyroxine) because they may fall Starlix 's effectiveness
