Etodolac is used for treating rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, or mild to moderate discomfort. It's also useful for healing soft tissue injuries, like tendinitis and bursitis, as well as treating menstrual cramps. Etodolac is an NSAID. Use Etodolac as directed by your physician.

Simply take Etodolac with a full glass of water (8 ounces/240 mL) as directed by your doctor.
In case you miss a dose of Etodolac and you are using it frequently, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your following dose, omit the missed dose. Return to your regular dosing timetable. Do not take 2 doses at the same time.

Do NOT use Etodolac if:
You're sensitive to any element in Etodolac

You're taking phenylbutazone

Some medical conditions may interact with Etodolac. If you have any health conditions, particularly if any of the following apply to you tell your doctor or druggist:
if you are pregnant, intending to become pregnant, or are breast feeding

if you are allergic to medicines, foods, or other materials
When you have a history of kidney or liver disorder, diabetes, or gut or bowel problems (eg, hemorrhage, perforation, ulcers)
In case you have a background of swelling or fluid buildup, lupus, asthma, or stones inside the nostril (nasal polyps), or mouth inflammation
When you have high blood pressure, blood disorders, bleeding or clotting problems, heart problems (eg, heart failure), or blood vessel disorder, or if you're in danger for any one of these diseases
You drink alcohol, in case you have poor health, dehydration or low fluid volume, or low blood salt levels, or you got a history of alcohol misuse.
Some medications might interact with Lodine. Communicate to your health care provider if you are getting any other medicines, especially any of the following:
Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), aspirin, corticosteroids (eg, prednisone), heparin, or selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) (eg, fluoxetine) because the danger of stomach bleeding may be raised
Phenylbutazone or probenecid because they may raise the risk of Etodolac's side effects
Cyclosporine, digoxin, lithium, methotrexate, quinolones (eg, ciprofloxacin), or sulfonylureas (eg, glipizide) because the risk of these side effects can be raised by Etodolac
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (eg, enalapril) or diuretics (eg, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide) because their effectiveness may be decreased by Etodolac

Etodolac may cause lightheadedness or drowsiness. These effects might be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medications. Use Etodolac with caution. Do not drive or perform other potential unsafe tasks until you understand how you respond to it.
Serious gut ulcers or bleeding can happen by means of Lodine. Taking it in high doses or for a long time, smoking, or ethanol increases the risk of these unwanted side effects. Don't take aspirin while you are using Etodolac unless your physician tells you to.
Etodolac may interfere with certain laboratory s. Be sure your doctor and lab personnel know that you take Etodolac.
Laboratory s, including kidney function, complete blood cell counts, and blood pressure, could be performed to track your progress or to check for side effects. Make sure you keep all physician and laboratory appointments.
Use Etodolac with caution in the elderly; they may be more sensitive to its effects, including stomach bleeding and kidney issues.
Etodolac should be used with extreme caution in children younger than 18 years of age; safety and usefulness in these children have not been validated.
Maternity and breast-feeding: Etodolac can cause injury to the fetus. Do not take it during the last 3 weeks of pregnancy. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your physician. While you are pregnant you're going to have to discuss the dangers and advantages of using Lodine. It isn't known if Etodolac can be found in mother's milk. Don't breast-feed while taking Etodolac.
