Zaditor (Ketotifen) is an antihistamine that inhibits the body's release of a compound called histamine. Histamine can produce allergy symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes.

Ketotifen ophthalmic is used as a treatment for itching of the eyes brought on by hypersensitivity to dust, pollen, animals, or other allergens.
Ketotifen ophthalmic may be employed for other purposes not outlined in this treatment guide.
Utilize this medication exactly as directed in the label, or as it has been prescribed by your doctor. Do not use the medication in larger amounts, or use it for longer than recommended.
Wash your hands before using the eye drops.
In the event that you wear contacts, remove them before applying ketotifen ophthalmic. This medicine may contain a preservative (benzalkonium chloride) that can cause discoloration of contact lenses.
To implement the eye-drops:
Tilt your head back slightly and pull-down your lower eyelid. Support the dropper above the attention with the dropper tip-down. Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, or as it has been approved by your physician.
In the event that you skip a dosage of Zaditor, use it whenever possible. If it is nearly time for your following dose, omit the missed dose and return to your usual dosing schedule. Do not use a double dose at once.
Shop Zaditor at room temperatures, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Keep away from heat, dampness, and light. Don't store in the toilet. Keep in a tight, light-resistant container. Retain Zaditor outside of the reach of children and away from animals.

Ketotifen ophthalmic should not be used to treat eye irritation due to wearing contact lenses.
FDA pregnancy category C. This medicine could be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your physician if you're pregnant or intend to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether ketotifen passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a child.
Don't apply this medicine in a child younger than three years-old without the guidance of a doctor.
Get emergency medical help if you have some of these symptoms of an hypersensitive reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or neck. Discontinue using ketotifen ophthalmic and call your physician at once if you have some of these severe side effects:
Soreness, drainage, eyelid swelling, or other indications of infection;
eye pain;
Vision disorders; or
severe itching of the eyes worse than before utilizing the medicine.
Less-serious side effects can include:
Light burning, stinging, or eye irritation;
dryness of the eye; or
increased sensitivity to light.
